Very successful Galilean Night at the Alice in Wonderland Statue in New York's Central Park on Thursday 22 October 2009. At least 50 people,some of which had seen the listing on the GN website came to look at the wonders of the moon and the Galilean satellites of Jupiter. The moons of Jupiter cooperated nicely by doing a ballet of movements to the left and right of the planet. We had two telescopes, a 80 mm wide-field refractor and a 60mm long tube refractor. We had a great time discussing the planetary distances and the speed of their light as well as the stories of Zeus's girlfriends and boyfriends, landing sights on the moon and various and sundry myths and legends. Clouds rolled in at 9:00PM and ended our session.
