The Sidewalk Astronomers started the international event craze with ISAN in 2007 and since then we have
added several yearly events. Most of these events continue throughout the year, giving you lots of opportunities to take part.
If you are a Sidewalk Astronomer, we hope you will take part in these events. Make sure to keep track of your observing hours
and events, we have event forms on our Recognition page. These events and hours will count towards your observing pins and
you can earn free solar glasses for your outreach (thanks to Daystar Filters!!). If you are a member of the public, call your
local astronomy club and ask if they are participating or if they would consider holding an event.
If you are a new telescope owner or new to sidewalk or public observing, please visit our resource page for helpful
tips on sharing the night sky! We've also made a Cosmic Passport that kids (or adults if they want to have some fun) can fill
out over the course of the year. You can download, print, staple and hand them out at all events.
HAVE FUN AND SHARE THE SKY!!!
